Natalie Bare, Principal

As principal of Gordon Elementary School, I would like to welcome you.  At Gordon, we always work to make all decisions with the mindset of what is best for kids. Our ultimate goal is To Be a Champion for Students. We work hard to provide engaging and innovative experiences for every student. Students deserve to have their voices heard and valued.

A bit about me: After graduating from Longwood University, my educational career began in Henrico County where I served as a second, third and fourth grade teacher for six years. During this time I earned my M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University. Next, I moved into the role of Resource Teacher for two years before relocating with my family for a brief stint in Northern VA working as a third grade teacher for Alexandria City. Fortunately, we were brought back to Richmond and I returned to Henrico County as an Associate Principal for three years. I was able to return to Chesterfield and serve as the Assistant Principal at Winterpock Elementary before receiving the greatest opportunity ever, principal at Gordon Elementary!

I grew up in Midlothian, graduating from Clover Hill Hight School! My husband Matt, my daughter Madison and my son Jackson (both patriots!) and I live in Moseley. As a family we love being outside, going to the beach, reading books, playing games and just enjoying time together.

Please feel free to email me at natalie_bare@ccpsnet.net or call me at (804) 378.2410 if I can help with anything. We are a family and are always happy to help.  Our goal is to always create a safe, positive, welcoming, engaging, and challenging learning environment.  I look forward to another wonderful and exciting year at Gordon. Thank you for sharing your children with us each day!

Thank you,
Natalie S. Bare, Principal

Meghan Perno, Assistant Principal

I am very excited to serve as the Assistant Principal of Gordon Elementary School. I am a proud graduate of Christopher Newport University, Old Dominion University, and Virginia Tech, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in English, a Master’s degree in Elementary Education, and an Education Specialist’s degree with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision. I began my career as a middle school classroom teacher, teaching English in Newport News and Poquoson, VA. I also taught 5th grade at Langley Elementary School in Hampton, VA. Upon relocating to Chesterfield, VA, I taught 4th grade at OB Gates Elementary School before beginning my administrative career as the Dean of Students at Matoaca High School.

In addition to my academic and career accomplishments, I am a wife to my college sweetheart and mother of three; in the fall, Madison begins 9th grade at Cosby, Emma begins 7th grade at Tomahawk Creek Middle, and Logan will be a 1st-grade Patriot. In my free time, I enjoy working out at OrangeTheory, watching my kids play sports, and playing outside with my kids and two golden retrievers.

I believe that genuine collaboration fosters ownership of a rich school culture. Supporting our kids to do well at school and in their personal lives is the center of the work we do as a school family. I am honored to have been selected to serve this community. I want you to know that my door is always open to you. I welcome your input and feedback, and I am excited to collaborate to ensure success for all Gordan Patriots! Please feel free to email me at meghan_perno@ccpsnet.net or call me at (804) 378-2410 if I can help with anything.
